Dental implants are titanium “screws” implanted (set) into the jaw bone in place of your teeth. They are the most permanent and trouble-free solution to missing teeth.
These dental implants are quite versatile, being used for replacing a single tooth, several missing teeth, or even all teeth on the upper or lower jawbone – know as arches in dentistry.
When used for replacing a single tooth, these dental implants are seated directly into the bone, and depending on the patient and the system used, a crown will then be seated on the implant, immediately if possible – or the patient may have to wait up to 6 months before the crown can be permanently affixed.
Why is there a wait? In some cases, the bone surrounding the implant may need time to heal, allowing the dental implant to be securely, safely and permanently anchored. While the dental implant is healing just under the gum, the patient doesn’t even feel or notice the implant is there. When the time comes for placing the crown, the gum is opened up, and the crown is placed onto the dental implant.
In the States and Canada, a single dental implant with a crown will run you upwards of $4,000! A rather hefty chunk of change in anyone’s pocket.
But by coming to our Mexican dental clinic in Mazatlan, the entire procedure – the dental implant AND the crown will only be $1,845 – a full 60% savings!
In cases where several teeth are missing, a dental bridge may be necessary. For example, if 3 teeth are missing, 2 dental implants may be placed into the jaw, and a 3-unit bridge (3 teeth placed in the proper positions) set onto the dental implants. Or, if 5 teeth are missing, 3 dental implants may be placed, and a 5-unit bridge set onto the dental implants.
In cases where all of the teeth are missing on the upper or lower arch, several implants may be placed into the arch, with a permanent denture or a full arch dental bridge (prosthesis) then set onto the dental implants.
In most cases, patients coming to our Mexican dental clinic can have all of the necessary dental implants placed in just one session.
Your Implant-Supported Denture Options
Due to neglect, disease or injury – many people have lost several or even most of their teeth. When this happens, dentures become the procedure of choice, if not necessity.
There are two main options for placing dentures on implants:
Option 1: Permanently anchoring the denture to the dental implant, usually using special medical grade screws for attaching the denture. This is not a recommended system, as usually, only a dentist can remove the denture for cleaning and maintenance.
Option 2: This second, better option, is a “ball and socket” method of attaching the denture to the dental implant. This is really the best of both worlds, as the denture has the stability found in the fixed option, but with the convenience of being a removable denture.
With this 2nd option, several dental implants are placed within the arch, again usually done in the same visit. These dental implants have a “ball” head, with the denture having the corresponding “socket” placed into its base.
The denture then “snaps” onto the head of the socket, much like the snap buttons on a pair of jeans, and is held firmly in place. The denture will not move or disengage from the dental implants with regular, everyday movements, such as eating or speaking.
In some cases, we at Mexican Dental Vacation can take your existing permanent denture and fit it to work with the “ball and socket” dental implant system, saving you the expense of an entirely new set of dentures, or it may be the right time to get a new denture that fits nicely, and looks great!
When you need to remove these ball and socket dentures, simply apply pressure in a lifting motion with your thumbs, and the denture easily pops off the dental implants.
Patients using the ball and socket type of denture report that for the first time in their lives, they can actually eat an apple, partake in physical activities – or even give a long loving kiss – without fear of losing their dentures! They say their lives have changed because of their new dentures, and they don’t hesitate in recommending them to other people.
Significant Savings- Uncompromising Quality
The MDI (Mini Dental Implant) removable denture system from Imtec would usually run in the neighborhood of $10,000 if done in the States or Canada. However, the EXACT same system and procedure done at our Mexican Dental Clinic in Mazatlan is only $5,500 – and this includes all the dental implants as well as the dentures. (A significant advantage by choosing us!)
Your savings by going to Mexican Dental Vacation? A minimum of 45%!
We use the Imtec brand of dental implant.
The image above is of the lower arch (jaw) MDI application, which is based on 4 implants. Since you have gravity working for you, 4 MDI implants are sufficient.
Upper arch MDI applications may require up to 6 implants because now we are working against gravity. Also, in most people, the upper arch bone is less dense than the bone in the lower jaw. Since the bone is less dense, more implants are required to carry and distribute the load, reducing the risk of implant failure.
The USA price for upper arch MDI’s? $12,000!
Our Mazatlan Dental Clinic cost for the EXACT same procedure? $6,400. (Now that’s what we call true savings!)
Please note when we say EXACT, we mean it. We use only the Imtec brand of dental implants – the absolute finest available. Even though our prices are far more competitive than those in the USA or Canada, we never compromise on the excellence of service or materials.

Special Note: Not every patient is a candidate for dental implants, and we reserve the right to refuse to place implants in certain cases. Especially when there is an underlying bone disease, dental implants may fail, some almost immediately, some after several months. There may simply not be enough strength in the bone foundation to properly seat the implants.
We do not guarantee success, but the success rate for dental implants has been shown to be better than 98%, based on the American Dental Association’s tracking of results since dental implants were first introduced to patients to replace missing teeth.
